The pacing and flow fits the cycle of the school year very well. We would have much healthier buildings and teachers if every school took the time to invest in this for teacher and leader discussion and practice.
Just what I need right now, but it is most beneficial if you have the workbook along with it.
An awesome book!!! I truly appreciated the clear wording that offered just enough color to develop a true picture of what was being expressed, but didn’t make it cloudy to the reader! Beautifully written and a must for those working with educators.
After hearing the author on the Cult of Pedagogy podcast, I bought the book and workbook. I am working through it with my language arts department. My only wish.... that there were not summertime chapters. We probably won't make our way through each chapter. The workbook and online resources are priceless. Thanks for this resource!
Such a great tool to discover as I wrap up the school year. I’m excited to start next school year with all the resource and tools this book has to offer.
Practice and spiritual. Healing and challenging. Concrete and big picture. This book is the book I desperately needed as a teacher. And while I'm no longer in the classroom, Onward is still a profoundly helpful tool and illuminating how to build strong habits of resilience. There's so much to learn and apply from this book to make us better teachers, more whole humans, and more resilient stewards of social justice.
Highly recommend to all those who wish to remain in the profession.
A wonderful read with many great ideas for cultivating reselience in education. Loved the ideas in the workbook (sold separate) that accompanies eacg chapter.
