Title: The No Complaining RuleAuthor: Jon GordonThis book is a story about a woman named Hope that was negative about her job, her family, her relationships, and her future. She goes to a doctor visit after a very rough work day and has to have tests. At the doctor she has a conversation about the “No Complaining Rule” from the nurse. The book takes off from there explaining what the No Complaining Rule is and what it is not.The basics behind the story are good, the story just helps to tell it without making it read like a text book with this as a recommendation.Overall the story isn’t that good, BUT the no complaining rule is. I bought it because of some negative circumstances at work and wanted to restructure my thoughts and take back how I felt about something. I feel like the book is just the start of the no complaining rule. You have to do it, daily. And when you do complain, make sure to stop and say “what if”… what if the XYZ thing isn’t bad, but it’s for the better or it’s for good. This book is straight to the point, can be read in a few hours and is good for either work or personal life negativity issues.I wouldn’t say this is the best book by Jon Gordon but it is worth the read. I would get it from the library, or buy it the ebook on kindle, a hard copy isn’t necessary. This is a short review for a short book.Overall, the book was: I give the book 3 stars out of 5.

A powerful lesson that we should all try to incorporate into our lives, unfortunately it is also one of the most difficult things to do in our modern society. Our society is set up to complain about every little thing and sometimes we do not even realize that we are complaining as it has become part of gathering together with friends or just having a normal conversation with someone at a coffee shop. Should we strive to not complain? Yes. Is it a practical book to follow and apply into your life? No. It is like exercise you know you should do it almost every day, but then you realize life does not allow for it to happen as often as you like. Overall it is a good read with a very good positive message. I do believe that students in school would benefit greatly from this book and maybe taught as part of a curriculum.

This book was and is an amazing book. I use to complain but I find myself now if I'm complaining I reroute my thoughts so I won't complain. My mother is a chronic and severe complainer I think I will let her read my book or buy her one of her own. I pray she's open minded about this book it has helped me so much. I highly recommend this book.

You'll see this review for all the Jon Gordon books I read. I actually bought "Training Camp" first, because I wanted my daughter (competitive soccer player) to work on her mental game. I read it first to be sure it was appropriate for her age (15). Well, I loved it! I found many helpful things for me. I was getting in a rut at my job and after looking inside myself, it seemed as though I was always angry and frustrated. I reached a point where I decided to change my outlook on everything, and whatever happens externally, happens. After Training Camp, I read the entire Jon Gordon series. They are very easy reading, regardless of age level (teens and up). People might complain that his books are too basic, but if you don't need a PHD to understand something, why write it like you need one? Each book has very simple steps and/or lessons to move you in the right direction. They didn't all work for me, but they all changed my outlook. Great stuff!

The No Complaining Ruled helped me move from a more pessimistic person to a more positive thinking, see each situation for what it is and be able to move on and make things better type of person. If you're willing, this book will change your perspective of things and change the way that you see things and act on a daily basis. I highly recommend The No Complaining Rule to anyone looking to make positive change in their life or anyone looking to improve their vision of things!

This is a really good book. I bought it for my wife but she let me read it as well. It is all about dealing with adversity without sinking into a death spiral of complaining and negative attitudes.

Overall I enjoyed the book. It was a quick and easy read, and it made me think more about the impact complaining can have on an organization. Sometimes we get so used to complaining being a part of every day life that it is hard to see where we can improve. The author did a good job of pointing out in what situations people typically complain and how to overcome this bad cycle. However, I did find the book to be a bit too simplistic and repetitive. From an HR student's perspective, I would have liked to see more about the challenges she faced when trying to implement this philosophy within her company. I am sure that in reality it would be much more difficult to change someone's lifestyle completely. That being said, it is still a very interesting concept, and I would definitely recommend this book for anyone hoping to improve their negativity for themselves or within their organization.

This book helps put life in perspective. A gentle reminder of how weshould be more appreciative of all that God has done for us and how we must choose how to respond when life doesn't always turn out as planned.

Womb Wisdom: Awakening the Creative and Forgotten Powers of the Feminine, by Padma Aon Prakasha

Review

“Womb Wisdom is a book that can reactivate the deep, inherent, often forgotten feminine power within us. Taking Tantra to the next level of unconditional love, appreciation, gratitude, and compassion for all beings, Womb Wisdom reveals the union of male and female through the greatest secret that women have: the womb. Woven within the pages is the intimate true-life account of how Anaiya opened the seven gates and five spirals that eventually led to the full opening of her womb. This book is a hands-on practical approach, packed with tools and ways to integrate this wisdom into your everyday lives. Womb Wisdom is a vital key to dissolving the problems in modern-day relationships and to entering the mystical chamber of the heart in union with the womb, in relationship. Women and men together as one!” (Margot Anand, author of The Art of Sexual Ecstasy)“Padma and Anaiya Aon Prakasha have written a beautiful book that teaches us how to listen to the ancient, creative messages hidden deep within the cyclical powers of the feminine soul. Womb Wisdom is a gift of reawakening at this crucial time of great shift upon our planet.” (Linda Star Wolf, author of Shamanic Breathwork: Journeying Beyond the Limits of the Self)“Womb Wisdom speaks to the soul of all women, revealing ancient teachings that every girl should receive prior to her emergence into womanhood. Through beautiful poetic writing, the authors describe how the womb not only births children but also a woman’s spiritual potential, personal healing, and the ability to relate at the deepest level of intimacy. Offering powerful healing meditations, this is an essential read.” (Christine Page, M.D., international speaker and author of 2012 and the Galactic Center: Return of th)“Womb Wisdom activates the spiritual knowledge of the sacred union of the Divine Feminine and Masculine within, catalyzing the birth of a harmonious and evolved consciousness. Through the body-based portal of the womb the reader is provided an invaluable opportunity to integrate shadow and light, access the voice of inner guidance, and emerge anew into divine wholeness.” (Danielle Rama Hoffman, author of The Temples of Light)“Womb Wisdom brings to the reader and world the hidden (but not secret) power of women, and in particular the womb. Not only is it a profoundly healing read, but it is a delightful read. The authors point to how we “hold the power to weave ourselves into the web of life” and give us the means to do so. This book offers ancient ways to heal the places within and without where we feel separate and divided. The womb, this book shows, holds wisdom for us all.” (Julie Tallard Johnson, author of Wheel of Initiation)

NEW AGE / SPIRITUALITY “Womb Wisdom is a book that can reactivate the deep, inherent, often forgotten feminine power within us. It is a vital key to dissolving the problems in modern-day relationships and to entering the mystical chamber of the heart in union with the womb, in relationship. Women and men together as one!” --Margot Anand, author of The Art of Sexual Ecstasy In the past and in present-day indigenous traditions, women have known that the womb houses the greatest power a woman possesses: the power to create on all levels. Utilized in the process of giving birth, this power of creation can also be tapped in the birth of projects, careers, personal healing, spirituality, and relationships. However, because the womb stores the energetic imprint of every intimate encounter--loving or not--the creative voice of the womb is often muffled or absent altogether, affecting the emotional, mental, and spiritual health of women and their relationships. Drawing on sacred traditions from ancient India, Tibet, Egypt, Gnostic Christianity, and Judaism, the practice of Womb Wisdom empowers women to become aware of the intuitive voice of the womb outside of pregnancy and the moon cycle to unlock this potent inner source for creativity, birthing the new conscious children, spiritual growth, and transformation not only for themselves but also for their male partners. The authors include exercises to clear the past, release toxic emotions, open the womb’s energetic pathways, activate the sacred sensual self, bring balance to relationships, and harness creative potential. Including intimate, individual stories of women experiencing the opening of the womb, this book also explores the forgotten sacred sites of the womb around the world as well as how the womb’s energies are crucial to birth a new civilization in the spiritual shift of 2012. The accompanying 45-minute CD includes a soundscape to assist in the awakening of these creative forces. PADMA AON PRAKASHA is an initiate of multiple sacred traditions, evolutionary catalyst, and author of The Power of Shakti, The Nine Eyes of Light, and The Christ Blueprint. He offers alchemical, transformational retreats worldwide. ANANAIYA AON PRAKASHA shares her personal experience of opening her womb and heart, while drawing upon her vast knowledge of Kundalini Yoga and direct experience with Advaita Yoga. She is the author of Open Your Heart with Kundalini Yoga. The authors live in the Greek Islands.

This really is an astonishing book. I have also read the authors' The Power of Shakti: 18 Pathways to Ignite the Energy of the Divine Woman, and recommend it also. However, I feel that for most people, my first choice would be this one, Womb Wisdom. I think it is more accessible, and the exercises require less prerequisite knowledge of energy work, chakras, Tantra, etc. In this book Anaiya (wife of the main teacher/author Padma) is more present, and shares many of her personal experiences with her teachings, which resonated more directly with me. In both cases, these books are probably best read in conjunction with attending the authors' workshops, as the material is esoteric, and the language can be hard to follow without some prior understanding. That being said I have not attended a workshop of theirs, and in fact have no other knowledge of them other than these books, although I have studied women's energy body teachings, Tantra, the chakras, and divine feminine teachings before. I found both the material and transmission behind these books, especially this one, to be truly magnificent, and very generous, considering that many of the teachings are drawn from spiritual traditions that are often very closed/protective (traditions of Tibet, Egypt, India, Gnostic Christianity and Kabbalastic Judaism.)Womb of Wisdom is designed to take the reader through a journey of 'womb spirals'. These spirals each represent one phase of our growth from spiritual infanthood to spiritual maturity, and correspond to levels of connection and understanding within our womb center (or 2nd/sacral chakra, as I am more used to thinking of it.) Exercises described include womb breathing, the 'black egg' practice, connecting the womb with the earth, and more. Sacred marriage/union/co-creation is also described, although most of this book can also be undertaken as a solitary journey. The section on the 'black light', the void of creation, is also immensely powerful. Another favorite section of mine was one on 'womb centers' around the earth. The book comes with a corresponding CD of soundsscapes/music with 4 pieces, each representing a phase of the journey. There's no instructions for using this CD, but I have been meditating with it, and find it very powerful. The authors connect women's shift into 'womb wisdom' as a big part of the much-written about 2012 shift. For that reason, I suppose this book will be classifed as 'new age' by book stores etc. I hesitate to do so, because I don't particularly like that label, and the authors themselves warn against the limiting 'light-only' focus that dominates a lot of new age teachings (and the 'spiritual junkie' mentality that can accompany this), but since this is a review, and I view it as my job to give potential readers an accurate feel for where this book fits amongst the vast array of spiritual material out there, I would have to say it is new age. Don't let that scare you off though. If you are feeling at all drawn to this book, buy it.

To me, this book felt counterproductive. It emphasized the physical aspect in a way that is misleading and plain wrong--for example, the absurd focus on a soul-mate who comes once in a lifetime. The womb and soul do not know limits. This is a limited and limiting book. Definitely prefer Dr Azra's and Seren's, which has real wisdom and not just self-descriptions.

Didn't like this book. It's very abstract, with most concepts repeated over and over in an over new age spiritual language that I dare to say doesn't say much. Some parts are interesting, but far from what I expected seeing the title and the table of contents. Their other Shakti book is much much better!

It kinda just says the same things over and over again with different wording. Some key points did resonate, but overall it's not a great read. Wouldn't recommend

Women's must read!

The authors state their opinions as facts.. that is my main complaint about this book. However, it is a worthy read.. some of the information is great and some of the womb exercises were really valuable. I really enjoyed the soundscape meditation cd that came with it.

I cannot drop this book. Discovering the amazing powers of my womb is one of thee best things that has happened to me.

This is a gem! A recommended read for all women!
