About the Author
Michele Wesen Bryant is an adjunct in the Fashion Design Department at the Fashion Institute of Technology. She also teaches flats and specs at Parsons School of Design. Bryant has been working in the fashion industry for over 20 years, having had fashion illustrations appear in Vogue, YM, Seventeen, Brides, Women's Wear Daily, Ladies Home Journal and Good Housekeeping.Diane DeMers is associate professor of fashion design at The Fashion Institute of Technology and a design consultant for Her Majesty Intimates and Cole Girl's Swimwear. For three years she designed Haute Couture, Pret a Porter, and License collections for Carven Couture in Paris, then continued her design career in New York City with Calvin Klein Intimate Apparel, Adrienne Vittadini, and Malain Knits.

One of the better investments I've made as a small business owner doing freelance technical design work in the apparel industry. it isn't that this book necessarily has new information for me, but its a great reference when I'm doing spec work on a garment that I haven't done in a while. Its like that checks and balance system to help me ensure that I'm doing the very best job for my clients and haven't overlooked anything. Well organized material, clear format and illustrations.
oh oh ... the only book i found about spec sheets..... and without any class now i know alot about it and feel confident.... a must have for fashion people...

i am an apparel design major and i bought this book for the information on how to properly create a specification manual. it was a great purchase and came in great time. it helps with understanding both the detail of laying out a proper spec manual and how to design a proper technical flat.
Sent to a granddaughter who is beginning to work on fashion design. I used it as a student at FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising) while at school. Has croquois for infants through adult both male and female for using to draw your designs.
A great reference for someone looking to learn more about mass market specifications, proper points of measure, and sizes. Also has sketched bodies to use.
Ordered this for a illustrator class, turns out I didn't need it.Anyhow, the information is good but layout style and pages seems 1960's old.
